India out of Champions Trophy 2009 – Reasons for this Failure
The start – India lost against Pakistan in the champions trophy, something that had never happened till date and this is something very serious indeed. India vs. Pakistan match is usually the most important match of any such tournament and India’s losing out is not just bad but is also a serious blow for India’s chances in the tournament. Lets see some of the reasons why India lost this crucial match.
- The match had not even started, and the commentators sat back and started the regular sycophancy. They started boasting on Sachin’s average, strikerate, total score, his centuries etc. they said, Imagine a guy like this coming out to bat, what will be the condition of the opposition.
- Well, honestly, us Indians and Indian commentators can be fooled by records but the opposition is not! Stats speaks all true except for the fact that it was all past, and the current situation is quite different, the harsh reality that we all are trying to avoid is that Sachin is old and can not be consistent. He had recently scored a century and was likely to get out early. Sachin – Please retire now.
- Rahul Dravid – Yeah, sheet anchor role, the wall, the holder of one side etc. were all good in the past. Not any more. Dravid, your time is over, please retire now.
- Dhoni – err. Don’t need to retire, just leave the captaincy, we don’t need a captain that calls India Vs. Pakistan match as Just Another Match. And if that was not enough, losing it badly after making a comment like this. Take it seriously Dhoni; else leave it for someone else. Dhoni seriously looks more of a politician than a captain, and please, don’t tell how good a captain he is because so far the only good games he had won was twenty20 matches.
Then, the India Vs. Australia match which ended in a draw due to the rain. This can be used as an excuse by the team India captain, M.S.Dhoni, though I would seriously hope he don’t use it as an escape boat, else Dhoni will prove to be more of a loser.
Pakistan losing against Australia – India’s champions trophy’s chances decided on the basis of Pakistan Vs. Australia match? It’s a real pitiful position of Indian cricket. However, I have never felt so sad after watching Pakistan lose a match
What can be other reasons for India’s exit of the champion’s trophy 2009?
- Gary Kirsten’s sex advises. Can this be related to the team’s moral and the reason of losing out?
- Top batsmen not playing – Shewag and Yuvraj are major batsmen and without them the Indian batting order looks really weak. The perhaps Gambhir was also not fully fit.
Am not really good at finding excuses, however Dhoni is good at it, am sure in the press conference, he will come up with great reasons why India lost the champion’s trophy 2009, got kicked out in the first round.
